San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA)

San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA)

Located in Yerba Buena Gardens, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) is the second most important museum of modern art in the United States after the MoMA of New York.

Inside this world-famous museum, you can find contemporary and modern works ranging from paintings, sculptures and photography, to the most avant-garde creations.

In the Museum of Modern Art of San Francisco, not only the exhibitions are eccentric, the outside of the building, designed by the prestigious architect Mario Botta, also attracts the attention, as it looks like an enormous brick box capped with a large cylinder.

Without any doubt, the most interesting works of the museum are to be found on the second floor. Here you can view some works from well-known artists such as Matisse, Picasso, Dalí or Miró.

If you are a true lover of modern art, you are sure to be impressed by the art pieces on all of the other floors. However, if you're not an expert, we recommend sticking to the second floor where the more famous pieces can be found.

Before leaving the museum don't forget to pay a visit to the gift shop. Here you will find unique and interesting objects that could make a perfect gift.
