San Francisco City Hall - City Hall in San Francisco
San Francisco City Hall

Opened in 1915 and built in a similar style to Les Invalides in Paris, after an earthquake in 1906 destroyed the original one, City Hall is one of the city's most beautiful buildings.

The current City Hall of San Francisco opened its doors in 1915, replacing the former building that was destroyed by the 1906 earthquake. The building is very similar to "Les Invalides" in Paris and is known for its large dome which is one of the largest in the world with 296 feet (90 metres) in height.

The interior of the City Hall impresses visitors with its sheer size. It looks like a large palace with every detail and adornment perfectly placed, making it the chosen venue for many couples getting married.

The City Hall of San Francisco has been used on various occasions as a setting for movies such as Bedazzled, The Wedding Planner and The Rock.
