San Francisco to Las Vegas 4 Day Excursion

Day 1: San Francisco - Modesto or Monterrey

We'll meet at 8:30 am in front of the San Francisco Public Library and head to Fisherman's Wharf for a boat ride. For the duration of 1 hour, we'll sail across the San Francisco Bay passing iconic landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Prison Island.

We'll disembark and give you 2 hours of free time in the Pier 39 area. Here, in addition to sea lions, you'll find a wide variety of restaurants. Afterwards, we'll take a panoramic tour that will lead us to other famous places in San Francisco such as Union Square, the Nob Hill neighbourhood or Chinatown, which is home to the second-largest Chinese community in the United States.

After watching the nightfall in San Francisco, we'll go back to the hotel to rest. During the spring and summer months, we'll stay in the city of Modesto, while in winter and autumn we'll go to Monterey

Day 2: Modesto or Monterey - Yosemite or Carmel-by-the-sea - Stevenson Ranch

The itinerary for the second day will depend on the time of year you travel. If you come in the spring and summer months, we'll head to Yosemite National Park, a landscape filled with lakes and forests of giant sequoias. We'll stop at several viewpoints and take a short hike to visit Yosemite Falls, which at 2395 feet (730 metres) is one of the highest waterfalls in North America. Of course, you'll have free time for lunch at the waterfall.

Are you doing the tour in autumn or winter? Depending on which one, we'll take a scenic tour of Monterey's waterfront and Cannery Row. There we'll discover how this area has been transformed throughout history from an industrial sardine cannery to a picturesque leisure retreat. We'll also stop in Carmel-by-the-Sea for lunch - did you know that actor and director Clint Eastwood was once mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea?

Regardless of the date, we'll end the day by arriving at Stevenson Ranch to rest.

Important: From April to October we'll visit Yosemite. However, this visit will always depend on the weather conditions at the time since access to Yosemite is restricted if there's snow. In the fall and winter months, or if the weather is bad, we'll go instead to the town of Monterey, where we'll take a guided tour.

Day 3: Stevenson Ranch - Las Vegas

After breakfast, we'll spend the third day travelling between Stevenson Ranch and Las Vegas through Death Valley. The drive will take 4 and a half hours, but we'll stop halfway in Barstow. We'll take you to a shopping mall and allow you some time for lunch and do some shopping.

With our appetites satisfied, we'll continue on to Sin City. Once at our destination, we'll walk along Las Vegas Boulevard, also known as The Strip. This is where the most famous hotels and casinos of Las Vegas are located. It's of the most popular avenues in the world.

In the evening, you can try your luck at blackjack or, if you're more of a laid-back type, we recommend a visit to see the Bellagio fountain show. You can retire to the hotel to rest at your leisure - the night is young!

Day 4: Las Vegas - Hoover Dam - Los Angeles

After breakfast, we'll leave Las Vegas and drive to the famous Hoover Dam. The site of numerous films such as Transformers and Superman, this dam is one of the most important engineering works of the 20th century. It's also the starting point of Lake Mead, the largest artificial spring in the United States.

We'll get back on the minibus and leave the state of Nevada behind us in order to return to California. We'll finish the tour in Los Angeles between 5 and 6 pm and drop you off at the Sheraton Culver City Hotel or the Farmers Market, whichever you prefer.
